Star Montessori
Little Star Montessori House
of Children is located on 21 Buisson Glade, West
Harbour, Auckland. It was established in February
1994 by Rachel Loo, a qualified A.M.I Montessori and
early childhood teacher who has a passion for
children and the Montessori Method of Education.
A
Love of Learning
For over 17 years Little Star Montessori has had a
reputation for both quality and passion when it
comes to children’s education and care. Rachel and
her team of dedicated teachers believe that children
learn best in an optimal environment rich in choices
and opportunities. We are inspired to instil in the
children a love of learning. Our desire to provide
the best environment for optimal learning has
fuelled Rachel’s commitment to establish a purpose
built Montessori Children’s House.

A New School
In 2010 Little Star Montessori
went through a
process of consultation with the school’s
parents and teachers. An architect then
designed new classrooms based on the
consultations. In the middle
of November 2011, Little Star Montessori was
rebuilt and extended to provide quality care
and learning for children aged 2 to 6 years
old. The new purpose built school will be
ready in the beginning of February 2012 and
photos of the new building will be added to
our site for you to view.
The design of our environment is one with
intelligent planning that will accommodate
flexibility and space to reinforce the
Montessori pedagogy, promote choices and
activities as well as opportunities for all kinds of
social, emotional, physical and cognitive
learning. It will also facilitate the development of warm
and reciprocal relationships between
children of different ages, abilities, cultures and adults. |
